ACS life

ACS (International) provides students with an extensive range of opportunities and challenges in order for them to achieve his or her potential. We are very proud of the many factors which contribute to the holistic education prized by the school community. Academic activities are complemented by a wide range of co-curricular activities (CCAs): an extensive leadership programme which includes over 200 formal leadership positions, and service and community project activities undertaken both locally and overseas. Life skills such as public speaking, presentation skills, time management and the art of study are emphasised as important components in our programme to nurture future leaders and global citizens.

We regard ourselves as a family. The concept of family is important to all cultures, and as a diverse and inclusive school, our integrated pastoral care / House system and our emphasis on Christian values supports, encourages, and challenges all students to achieve their potential in every aspect of school life.

Service is a fundamental part of the Christian faith. We believe that service also complements and enriches our academic curriculum, so such activities are a compulsory part of our school programme.

Our staff and students all play a role in organising the various service activities both locally and around the world. There are opportunities to participate in annual overseas trips to Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Japan, and even Zimbabwe to work on conservation and construction projects, assist in classrooms, clean-up activities, and supporting the vulnerable.

Many of the service activities require funding – and students are encouraged to be creative and efficient in helping to raise funds for these endeavours. Whether it is to serve those in Singapore or abroad, our staff and students have always risen to the occasion. Through service, both our school community and the ones we serve gain a great deal.
