Model United Nations Conference

9 to 11 August 2018

From 9 to 11 August, a delegation from ACS (International) had the opportunity to participate in NPSMUN. The MUN is a simulation of the United Nations which requires students to debate and discuss issues of global significance. Attending an MUN conference allows students to develop advanced communication skills as well as to enrich their knowledge and understanding of current affairs.

NPSMUN was a wonderful experience for the six students who proudly represented our school: Pei Han Lu, Nicolle Tan, Karan Attal, Kishoraan Sivananthan, Gurnihal Singh and Ayushi Lahiry. After three days of debating about topics such as institutional racism, AI and the economy, and the impact of the OBOR initiative on the economy, it is safe to say that the six of us bonded with the delegates in our committee quite well, made numerous friends, grew our respective Instagram follower bases exponentially and learned a lot about issues that will be up to our generation to solve.

A big congratulations to Pei Han and Nicolle on their first MUN, and to Ayushi for winning “Best delegate” in the ECOSOC committee.
