Admissions Requirements

ACS (International) enrols both local and international students.

Students are admitted in accordance with the Admissions Policy and Entry Requirements Policy. The process for applying and admittance is shown in the table below.

Level Applying for Admission by
Years 1 to 3 IGCSE Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE) Results [for local Year 1 admissions]

  • Require no entrance test
  • Submit results after November release
  • Minimum criteria:
    • Attained aggregate of AL 20 or less
    • Maximum Grade 5 for English, Mathematics & Science
    • Eligible for the Express stream
  • Attend short oral interview (with a senior staff member)
Direct School Admission (DSA) [for Years 1, 2 and 3 admissions]

  • Require entrance test  (English and Mathematics & Sciences [for Year 3 applicants]), usually administered earlier in the year, before the release of the PSLE results in the student’s PSLE year
  • Attend short oral interview (with a senior staff member)
Year 5 IBDP Direct School Admission (DSA)

  • Based on Preliminary Exam results
  • IGCSE results will determine which Higher Level (HL) subjects the student may take for the IBDP the following year
Years 1, 2, 3, Foundation IB, & Bridging Programmes* Direct School Admission (DSA)

  • Require entrance test (English, Mathematics & Sciences [for Years 3 and 5 applicants])
  • Attend short oral interview (with a senior staff member)
Year 5 IBDP GCE ‘O’ Levels or IGCSE Results

  • Submit results after August/January release
  • Require no entrance test
  • Minimum criteria:
    • Singapore GCE ‘O’ Levels: Attained aggregate of 18 or less
    • Minimum B3 for High Level enrollment
    • IGCSE: Minimum of 3As and 3Bs
  • Attend short oral interview (with a senior member of staff)
Direct School Admission (DSA)

  • Require entrance test (English, Mathematics, and Sciences [for Years 3 and 5 applicants]), usually administered in the student’s Secondary 4 year
  • Attend short oral interview (with a senior staff member)

Note: Progression to the next year level is based on consistent attendance at school and meeting progression requirements in the internal school examinations.

 

One-Year Bridging Programmes

Students who take English as a Second Language may apply to join the Bridging programme in Years 1, 2 or 4 in preparation for joining the mainstream classes the following year.

Students who take English as a First Language and are applying for Year 4, are not eligible for the two-year IGCSE programme but may apply to the one-year Foundation IB course. The standard entrance tests for each level plus the oral interview form the basis of selection. Their current school reports are also considered.
